On September 11, 2025, the Gambia Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) held a decoration ceremony at its headquarters in Banjul, where 237 officers of various ranks were officially decorated following their promotions. Chief Fire Officer Sang Colley Ndow, who presided over the event, commended the officers for their dedication and reminded them that promotion comes with greater responsibility, discipline, and commitment to safeguarding lives and property. Senior officers, including Assistant Chief Fire Officers and ex-Deputy CFO Alhagie Lamin Sanyang, also urged the promotees to uphold loyalty, teamwork, and professionalism. The ceremony, attended by senior management and staff, was a proud and inspiring moment for the GFRS.
