GAMBIA FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE STAFF COMPLETE BASIC IT TRAINING

The Gambia Fire and Rescue Service is proud to announce the successful completion of a two-month basic IT training program held at the Monkey Girl IT Center in Sambuya, West Coast Region. Thirteen dedicated staff members participated in the comprehensive training, which covered essential IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

The training aimed to enhance the staff’s IT capabilities, improving their efficiency and effectiveness in performing their duties. The Head of the Training Center, Mr. Seedy Jarjue, commended the students’ maturity and dedication, noting their significant progress throughout the program.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Yaya Sonko expressed his gratitude to the Monkey Girl IT Center for providing this valuable opportunity, stating that the training would undoubtedly benefit the Gambia Fire and Rescue Service. He encouraged the staff to apply their new skills in their daily work.

The Ambassador at Large and Honorary Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Ms. Sonia Arup, reiterated her commitment to supporting the Gambian people, particularly the Gambia Fire and Rescue Service. She highlighted her recent initiatives, including offering help to communities across the Gambia, focusing on children and the elderly.

The Alkali of Sambuya, in his closing remarks, congratulated the graduands and emphasized that this achievement marks the beginning of a new phase in their professional development as IT experts. He reminded them that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.”

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates and valuable gifts to key personalities, including the Head of the Training Center and the Ambassador at Large. The Gambia Fire and Rescue Service extend its appreciation to the Monkey Girl IT Center for their collaboration and support in enhancing the skills of its staff.
